A US family company founded in 1976 by Frederick Chiu in Norwalk, California, starting with a single product, canned white crab meat from Thailand and the first Thai seafood imported to North America. Polar has grown into a broad importer of shelf-stable seafood and food products, including brisling sardines from Latvia, herring and kipper from Germany, tuna, oysters, mussels, and a wide range of Asian pantry goods. Headquartered in Norwalk with six distribution centres across the US.
