A cannery at the fishing port of Figueira da Foz, Cofisa has been canning sardines, mackerel, tuna, squid, and octopus for decades. Acquired by Grupo Freitasmar in 2004, it sits alongside Freitasmar's Olhão factory and the Vasco da Gama label as part of one of the more quietly significant groups in the Portuguese industry. Exports to over 20 countries including the Italian market, which prizes its olive oil lines.
